White Pine Bush Scenic Reserve

29 kms north of Napier on SH2.
Tangoio, Hawkes Bay
A remnant lowland podocarp forest (19 hectares) with white pine (kahikatea) dominant. The bird population includes bellbirds (korimako), fantail (piwakawaka), kingfisher (kotare), tui , kereru, and ruru.

Two walking tracks, (30 mins and 1 hour). The shorter track is suitable for wheelchairs.

The car park here can be a good place to start on the Tangoio walkway which leads south from here. See the DOC web entry.
