Ashburton Glassworks

8 Glassworks Road And Bremners Road, Ashburton
Ashburton, Canterbury
This splendid brick building was built in 1928 for the Southern Glass Company - a failed venture to establish a secondary industry in the town.

An Ashburton architect Ernest Mitchell Gabites did the design.

During the second World War it served as a training facility and barracks.
