Waiapu Cathedral (Church of St John the Evangelist)

Browning Street, Bluff Hill
Napier, Hawkes Bay
Christchurch architect R S D Harman drew the preliminary design. Following his death the design was completed by local architects Malcolm and Sweet.

The first St Johns Cathedral by B W Mountfort built in brick was destroyed in the earthquake in 1931. The present church is of reinforced concrete. It was constructed between 1955 and 1965 in a style typical of the period.

A brochure, available at the entrance, provides a self-guided tour for visitors.
