Knox Church

453 George Street
Dunedin, Otago
Surprisingly two large Presbyterian churches were built in the early days of Dunedin both with the same architect. Like First Church, Knox Church was designed by Robert Lawson. It was completed in 1876 three years after First Church.

Considered to have a better interior than First Church Knox Church was 'built for a mixed group of United Presbyterians, Congregationalists and Methodists. It represents the academic and professional Presbyterians and has always been the church with the closest ties to the University of Otago. (First Church was built by the free Church of Scotland).'
