Riccarton Racecourse and Tea House

171 Racecourse Rd, Riccarton Racecourse
Riccarton, Canterbury
Since the 1870s Riccarton Racecourse has been the home of the New Zealand Cup, the thoroughbred horse race held on the final Saturday of New Zealand Cup week in November. The first New Zealand Cup race was in 1860.

Originally built by the Luttrell Brothers in 1903 for ladies to take tea while men visited the bar, the teahouse has been refurbished by architect William Fulton.

The Luttrell Brothers were also responsible for the design of the main grandstands (1920 - 23).
